How to Choose Your First Eighth of THCa Flower
An eighth is 3.5 grams — roughly five to seven joints or a couple of weeks of occasional use. It is the right size for a first order because it lets you find out whether a strain suits you before you commit to an ounce. Here is how to pick one.
Step 1: pick a lane — indica, sativa, or hybrid
Indica-leaning (Gelato 41): body-forward, evening, settle-in. Sativa-leaning (Permanent Marker, Biscotti): brighter, heady, daytime or social. Hybrid (Cereal Milk, Watermelon Nerdz): a lift up front that eases into relaxation — the safest first pick if you are unsure.
Step 2: read the terpenes
Terpenes are the aromatic compounds that shape the experience as much as the lineage does. Caryophyllene and myrcene lean relaxing; limonene reads uplifting; linalool reads calming. Every JGO product page lists the dominant terpenes for the strain. If a description like "sweet cream, berry, citrus gas" sounds appealing, that is a good sign.
Step 3: Top Shelf or Exotic?
All JGO strains are indoor, hand-trimmed, and test around 30% THCa. Top Shelf strains (Watermelon Nerdz, Cereal Milk) are the frostiest, most flavorful buds in the batch at $45 an eighth. Exotic strains (Gelato 41, Permanent Marker, Biscotti) are premium indoor flower at $25. For a first order, Exotic is the sensible place to start; move to Top Shelf when you know what you like.
Step 4: check the lab report
Every product page has a Certificate of Analysis section. Look for two numbers: THCa (potency) and Δ9 THC (must be under 0.3%). If a seller does not show you this, buy somewhere else.
Step 5: your first session
THCa flower at 30% is strong. Take one or two small puffs, wait ten minutes, and see how you feel before taking more. Effects from smoking or vaporizing last one to three hours. Do not mix with alcohol on your first try, and do not drive.
Step 6: store it properly
Airtight, cool, dark, with a humidity pack if you have one. Not the fridge.
